If murder makes you peckish, head over to Roost Beer Garden for some pizza and live music with Pete Pawsey from 3 to 6 PM.

Diane Chamberlain – The Stolen Marriage

If you’re in the market for some beautifully designed jewelry, Dovecote will be having a trunk show with Ann Lightfoot from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The Goat will have a wine tasting at 3 PM, the Tokyo Rosenthal will be playing live at Roost from 5 to 8 PM.

Panel Discussion with Bronwen & Francis Percival
Bronwen, cheese buyer at London’s famed Neal’s Yard Dairy, along with her co-author and husband Francis, acclaimed food and wine writer for The World of Fine Wine, join Alison Martin from the Livestock Conservancy, Alexander Kast from Chatham County’s KastHuis Cheese, and home dairy farmer Kendy Sawyer from Hinesite Farms in Virginia, for what’s certain to be a lively discussion concerning artisan traditions, the farming of rare breeds of cattle (such as heritage Milking Devon cattle from VA), and the ever-increasing industrialization of food production. Bronwen and Francis Percival co-wrote Reinventing the Wheel: Milk, Microbes, and the Fight for Real Cheese. Note that there will be cheeses to sample!

NC Arts Council Fellowship Reading
McIntyre’s Books welcomes some of the NC Arts Council’s newest literary fellowship recipients with an afternoon of readings, book signings and conversation. Authors include: Bryn Chancellor (fiction), Elisabeth Corley (poetry), Travis Mulhauser (fiction), Trace Ramsey (creative nonfiction), and Julie Steinbacher (fiction).
Brien Barbour will be playing live at Roost from 3 to 6 PM- grab a brew!

NCPS Reading Series
Join us for readings by local poets Priscilla Webster-Williams, Susan Adler George, and Aruna Gurumurthy.
Pumpkinfest will be afoot from 5-8 PM: Fearrington’s gardeners and chefs will put their creative skills to work on over 80 beautiful, silly, and sometimes even spooky, jack o’ lanterns sourced from Porter Farms and vendors from the NC State Farmers’ Market! Roost will serve pizza by the slice, along with wine and beer, and Eric Sommer will be sharing his live guitar tunes there from 6-8pm. The Fearrington Granary will be open for dinner with a limited menu from 5-8pm, The Goat will be serving ghoulish goodies including sweets, sandwiches and to-go salads.
McIntyre’s Books will host spooky storytimes at 6, 6:30 and 7pm with Sarah.
