Our History

Over 30 years ago, Jenny Fitch renovated the former milking barn of the Fearrington farm and opened Dovecote Style in this unique space. Over the years, the store has morphed from a charming garden shop into the one-of-a-kind shopping destination that it has become today. In addition to our signature items carried throughout the year, our seasonal Trunk Shows and Pop-Up Shops further enhance our shopping experience with even more extraordinary finds.

Meet Our Team

Daneen Eaton, Merchandising Manager

Upon graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1977, Daneen worked for Fitch Creations for 6 years, soon after Fearrington began. Among her contributions: identifying the Belted Galloway cows that subsequently became our unofficial mascots, and beautifully illustrating Jenny Fitch’s Fearrington House Cookbook. She rejoined in 2007 and has since overseen merchandising and visual displays for our shops. Check out Daneen’s Pinterest page and blog for fashion trends and to see what Dovecote has in its shops!

Marta Knezevic, Stylist

Originally from Poland, Marta is a fashionista inside and out! Her style is fresh and exuberant, combined with a sense of worldly flair. Her previous experience includes personal shopping services in Darien, Conneticut. Her extraordinary eye for detail combined with her fun and engaging personality make for a unique shopping experience at Dovecote.
