At Dovecote, Style Defined
February 5, 2016 9:05 AM | By Dovecote Stylists | No Comments
This look was styled by Emma.
We’re taking a classic outfit consisting of a bottom, a tee and a jacket and twisting it today. What is fashion if not fun and experimental? As long as you start with the classics, you can use your imagination and create looks you’ll love!
Our tee from Porto is made of breathable microfiber that’s made in Italy. It has a subtle print, a flattering silhouette and a feminine ruching detail at the sleeve. We love it paired with Blair Stanley’s preppy-meets-tough take on a moto jacket and either a slim pant or even a pencil skirt. We’ve accessorized it with a hand painted enamel cuff from Evocateur and a zodiac sign pendant from ASHA New York.
This outfit would take you anywhere, from a casual office to a picnic in the park. We love the versatility!
Classic Defined: A Classic style is the basis of chic fashion. It has characteristics that appeal to a majority of “neat & tidy” women – especially those who appreciate tailored clothes and accessories. Minimalism, Preppy and Elegant style are variations of this fashion persona. Timeless design, usually black, grey, sometimes white or nude, with the occasional pop of color. Always flattering, never out of style, and always tasteful.

Here at Dovecote, another holiday means another new outfit! We are busy receiving lots of new spring pieces from some of our favorite designers and our brand new Magaschoni cashmere order put us in the mood to dress for Valentine's Day!
Full of corals, strawberries and the palest of pinks, we unloaded boxes of the sweetest, softest cashmere. What could be better than that incomparably irresistible texture for a Valentine's Day celebration?
A whisper of pink is beautiful with a stone... Full Post >
Our Belted Barnyard

Last week we welcomed the newest kid on the block - a sweet baby Fainting Tennessee Goat. This little lady is already making friends with the rest of our family. Stop by and say hello!
Our black and white Fainting Tennessee Goats are named for a harmless hereditary genetic disorder known as myotonia congenita. The... Full Post >

Taking on avant garde fashion is not for the faint of heart. We like to take a page from our international friends, those from Paris or Tokyo or Sydney, and just go for it. Fashion is supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be experimental and exciting. We love to play with proportions and textures and colors and this look is no different. We’ve taken a pair of pleated, high-waisted wide leg cropped pants (a must for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016! Get your pair... Full Post >
Fearrington House Restaurant, Wine
We previously announced the beginning of our transition to include more organic and local wines on our wine by the glass menu at The Fearrington House. We live in a very exciting time for wine, and one fortunately where some of the best producers are using organic or biodynamic methods. There are three main types of eco-friendly viticulture: Sustainable, Organic, and Biodynamic.
Sustainable viticulture is a practice that has no formal regulations, but states a grower interest in... Full Post >
