Savor Summerfare at The Granary

There’s still time to relish The Fearrington Granary’s Summerfare menus! Whether you’re enjoying lunch on the patio with friends, or dinner with family, take advantage of seasonal flavors like peaches and corn, or strawberries and flounder.

Combine two lunch courses for just $18, or two dinner courses for $30. Ask Fearrington’s sommelier, Colin, about wine or beer pairings with your meal – and don’t forget about 1/2 off bottles of wine Monday nights at The Granary!

Sarah & Pete’s Reads

Whoa, what a story! Both Sarah and I (at Sarah's urging) read I Let You Go and neither of us could put it down. A young boy is killed in a hit-and-run accident that leaves the police stymied and us, the reader, certain we know who committed the crime. But do we? When we planned the summer menu we focused our efforts on tomatoes, beans, tomatillos, cucumbers and we were... Full Post >

Meet Our Bees

Have you heard the buzz? Of our bees, that is! Fearrington is now home to four bee hives, which produce the honey for The Fearrington House menu and for our Fearrington House-to-Home take-home honey. We talked with Junior Sous Chef Zac to see what's new with our flying friends. Where are they from? Our bees are from local hives in North Carolina. It is best to use bees from the area you live in because they are acclimated to the weather - in our case the heat - and are less likely to be... Full Post >

Factors such as soil type, sun exposure, humidity, temperature shifts, and a variety of other factors guarantee that good wine has a distinctive taste of its home, or terroir. These differences mean that neighboring vineyards may end up producing vastly different wines. Enter Pinot Grigio, a humble and expressive variety that is perfect for a study in terroir. Pinot Gris and... Full Post >

Q&A with Molly Hurley & Suzanne Pond

We were excited to catch up with Molly Hurley and Suzanne Pond, before their Kinross trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th. Here is what they shared with us about their collection! How does your brand develop from season to season? Kinross strives to put a fresh, modern, relevant and original perspective on design. While keeping an eye on emerging trends, we craft our collection to include wear-now pieces for all sensibilities. We no longer see... Full Post >
