Women of Fearrington Celebrate 30 Years of Service
The Women of Fearrington celebrated 30 years of camaraderie and community service with a festive garden party at the end of April. Members enjoyed meeting friends, old and new, on the Garden Terrace of the lovely Fearrington House where they indulged in an array of delicious savories and sweets and made a toast to many more successful decades of learning, laughing, and leading in this unique community. It was truly a special day of reminiscing! The Women of Fearrington Board expressed its appreciation to R. B. Fitch for his generous support of many WoF endeavors over the years.
In just the past eleven years, Women of Fearrington, Inc. , has raised almost $200,000 (with almost $90,000 in the last three years alone) to fund grant projects that support Chatham County’s women and children. They also sponsor Reaching Chatham’s Children which provides over 35 Fearrington Village volunteers to tutor in area schools. Along with these good works, the organization is a great way to connect with other women who make Fearrington their home through social events, outings, and educational opportunities. Fearrington’s residents have a reputation for strong community engagement and the Women of Fearrington epitomize this.
Happy Anniversary, Women of Fearrington! Here’s to many more years of good works and friendship.
