Wine of the Week [January 12th – January 18th]

Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts!  Regardless of the degree to which you identify with the term, whether you like to enjoy a glass every now and then, or, like me, evaluate the worth of a restaurant’s wine list by the number of bottle you don’t recognize, we here at The Goat would like to foster your love for the drink by offering wine every week that we will showcase here in the blog, and have available for tasting on Fridays from 6~7 p.m.

Das Wein!  Yes, Germany is the Motherland from which the two absolutely fantastic bottles that we have for your viewing and tasting pleasures this week hail!  We have one red and one white, yes the Germans are not unfamiliar with red grapes, a Riesling and a Pinot Noir from Mosel and Pfalz respectively.

The “Zilliken” Riesling is full of white peach, lime pith, and orange blossom, with a slight mineral oil sensation and a touch of sugar to keep the acidity pleasant!  $17/Retail

The German Becker Family Pinot Noir takes the bright acidity and clean approach of red Burgundy, and adds a touch more body and presence to the mouthwatering dark cherry and blackberry fruit. Yum!  $21/Retail

See you Friday!!!
