Wine of the Week [December 29th – January 4th]

Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts!  Regardless of the degree to which you identify with the term, whether you like to enjoy a glass every now and then, or, like me, use a combination of Voodoo magic and persuasive negotiating (begging) to select the bottle of Champagne for New Years, we here at The Goat would like to foster your love for the drink by offering wine every week that we will showcase here in the blog, and have available for tasting on Fridays from 6~7 p.m.

Spain is the country of shared heritage for the white and red wine this week, with both being blends of mostly traditional grapes from their respective regions.  Ribeiro and Rioja, for the white and red respectively, are the particular regions, and for lack of more exciting information outside of the wine itself, I’ll end things here.

A perfumed and extremely fragrant nose with more heft and density on the palate than what the nose suggests.  Its round and balanced structure lends this wine to pairings with fish, raw shellfish, blanched veggies, and herb salads. $23/Retail

This is just an awesome Crianza from Rioja Alta, from one of the most storied producers.  The definition of wine in perfect balance, this wine’s Acid, fruit, tannin, alcohol, oak imparted aromas and flavors, and body are all in perfect sync!  $24/Retail

See you Friday!!!
