Soup Season
October is here and with it, the unmistakable chill in the air that tells us that fall is, indeed, nearing the Carolinas. It takes a while, y’all.
But when it’s here, there’s nothing better than whipping up a warm, comforting, delicious and delightful batch of soup.
At Dovecote, we have a couple recipe collections on the subject to help entice you into the kitchen and into the fall spirit. We also have beautiful soup bowls (because you eat with your eyes first!)
We love our oval double-handled soup bowls from Clos du Manoir. They are large, yet manageable, and so pretty with their accompanying saucer. These are modeled after a 19th century Belgian dish line and let me tell you something: the Belgians clearly know their soup.
These bowls, as well as our rustic soup bowls from Farmhouse Pottery, are simple and versatile, fit for a dinner party or a casual weekday with family. They add a little something special to any soup recipe that strikes your fancy.
Check out Simply Soup, one of my favorite inspirations during this season, straightforward and, as promised, simple. From classics such as minestrone to ones that are a little more out there, such as German potato soup and beet and apple soup, there’s a little something for every soup fan. We can just picture a vibrant tomato bisque being gently ladled into our white ceramic double-handled bowls; the juxtaposition of colors alone is mouthwatering!
Pop by the store to stock up on all your new favorite recipes and your new favorite dishes for everyone’s favorite season! Fall is here!
