Reindeer Readers Is Back!
This holiday season, McIntyre’s Books is sharing holiday cheer with Chatham County students through their Reindeer Reader program, gifting more than 1,500 pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students in Chatham County with a book to take home over the holidays.
To get all our littlest readers in the holiday spirit, come in your pajamas and celebrate the holiday season with a special story time visit from Daniel Tiger on Saturday, December 7th at 10:30am. Miss Sarah will share a few Daniel Tiger stories and families who purchase a Daniel Tiger book or donate to our Reindeer Readers program will have a chance for a photo with Daniel! Entry to this special event is a cash donation to support the reindeer readers program.
The bookstore is looking for classroom sponsors! A donation of $40 can provide an entire Chatham County public school classroom with books to take home for the holidays.
“The gift of literacy is irreplaceable and benefits us all,” says Bookstore Manager Keebe Fitch. “Sarah Carr, our children’s book buyer, and I have been tinkering with the idea of how to get books into the hands of younger students in Chatham County. As Sarah always says, literacy is the best gift one can give.”
McIntyre’s Books is incredibly grateful to each volunteer and sponsor for their thoughtfulness and generosity.
Donations will be accepted through the holiday season. Volunteers are always needed to help wrap gifts. Stay tuned for details on the annual gift wrapping event!
