Laura and Joe never forgot how a work colleague in Rochester, NY gushed about a beautiful place in the South: Fearrington Village. That was 25 years ago, and when they were passing through North Carolina years later, they decided to stay overnight at the Fearrington House Inn and see it for themselves. They were not in a mindset to buy a home here at all. But all the stars aligned and they fell in love with the community, the hospitality of the inn staff, as well as the real estate office and the location of the central village neighborhood of Camden Park with its farm-like setting. They purchased a house that day! Since moving here they have made numerous friends, even being invited to a next door family dinner for their first Thanksgiving!

Even while sheltering in place, the neighbors found ways to gather regularly to enjoy life and enjoy one another, as well as to help one another. As one neighbor put it, “Here on Caldwell, we take care of our own.” They regularly enjoy the trails and opportunities to walk and particularly love the open space that has been preserved in Camden Park. As dog owners they have met and become good friends with several neighbors because their dogs brought them together!
