“Our team combines southern charm and warmth with the polished technical service fully integrated into the experience. We believe that you cannot fully do great service without getting the basics down. We may possibly be the least intimidating wine team in the country. We’re just a couple of service professionals that love wine and want to spread the word.”
With an accessible beverage program including a wide selection to accommodate different tastes, The Fearrington House beverage program can be experienced with a cocktail or beer at the bar, or wine pairings with dinner.

Our cocktail program is tailored for the current menu and the season. “We collaborate with Sous Chef Zac Hackney on the seasonal items we have in-house, including honey and infusions harvested from our vegetable and herb gardens,” says Paula. “It’s great to be able to tap into our kitchen resources and make cocktails that are locally-inspired and collaborative in nature.”
Offering local beers, including our seasonal collaboration with Fullsteam Brewery, our beverage team can help guide you to the perfect brew to pair with dinner or to enjoy after work at the bar.

Paula de Pano, Beverage & Service Director
Paula joined the Fearrington House in 2010 as a sommelier after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. It was during her time at Fearrington that she received her Advanced Sommelier distinction with the Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2014, she moved to New York City to be part of the sommelier team at the three Michelin star restaurant, Eleven Madison Park. After two years, she returned to Fearrington Village as the Beverage & Service Director. Read more about Paula here.
Jesse Scott, Assistant Sommelier
Jesse, a North Carolinian native and resident of Chapel Hill, after working as AGM and head server at [ONE] restaurant came to join the Fearrington family in April 2016. He started his career in the hospitality industry as curb-hop and dining room server at his family’s restaurant. Now immersed in wine, he eagerly seeks to assist you in finding the perfect bottle to complement your experience at The Fearrington House Restaurant.
