Sommariva Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut 2014
Sommariva was founded in 1965 specifically to promote Glera (aka the Prosecco grape) in the DOCG of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, the heart of Prosecco-land. The Sommarivas look after their Glera with dedication and passion with all of their grapes hand harvested and the vines are tended with eco-friendly practices. Serve as an aperitif while you wait on the turkey to finish cooking, with bitter greens, cornbread, or ambrosia for dessert.
Villa Brici Pinot Grigio 2015
Coming from the Brda region of Slovenia, bordering NE Italy that is known for their Pinot Grigio, this wine can be enjoyed throughout the course of your Thanksgiving Dinner. This should cover your pairing needs for the turkey (or vegetarian options such as tofu or seitan), onion gravy and oyster stuffing, and sweet potatoes. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif to start the evening off with hors d’oeuvres and chilled seafood.
Jean-Maurice Raffault “Les Galuches” Chinon 2016
Jean-Maurice’s family has been tending vines in Chinon since the late 1600s and was one of the first vintners in the Chinon area to revere the importance of terroir, and to name each individual bottling according to the plot the wine was made from — in this case, Les Galuches vineyard. Have this with your dark meat turkey, rosemary stuffing, cranberry sauce, brussel spouts or almond and green bean casserole.
The Deluxe Thanksgiving Survival Kit features one sparkling wine, one white wine, and one red wine, plus a bonus 4-pack of Ramona Sparkling Wine, for only $69.99!
Avinyo Cava Brut Reserva 2014
Bright, fresh, and zippy in acidity – Serve these estate bubbles with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and all your green sides: brussel sprouts, asparagus, and green beans.
Domain Matrot Bourgogne Blanc 2014
Now on its 6th generation, Domaine Matrot has been organically tended to since 2000. The quality and pedigree of this wine can’t be beat as the Chardonnay grapes are picked outside of the illustrious Meursault appellation in Burgundy. Drink this with your helping of turkey, stuffing, grilled asparagus, mashed potatoes, and buttered corn.
Chateau Musar “Jeune” Rouge 2013
The Hochar family crafts a melange of wines, made to emulate and exalt the wines of the Bordeaux and the Rhone. This blend of Cinsault, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon goes best with the dark-meat of turkey, pork tenderloin, cranberry sauce, mushroom gravy, or any savory and herb preparations of squash.
BONUS: 4-pack of Ramona Sparkling Wine
Step back in time with is new-school sassy “wine cooler”. This low-alcohol canned wine is a well-balanced, zesty blend of organic Sicilian wine with ruby grapefruit. Pop these cans open while prepping for your long day of Thanksgiving cooking – believe me, you’ll need the 4-pack.
