At The Belted Goat
“Fly Like an Eagle” Wine Pack
For those of you who are looking for some great wines with cute labels, you’ve found the right wine pack. 3 bottles all with an homage to the birds of their locale — a convocation of eagles, a parliament of owls, and a cast of hawks. This package includes one white, one red, and one sparkling cider. We’re proud to work with some great wineries & local import companies to bring us some of the best quality wines from around the globe. (For those of you who are a bit more health-conscience, all of these wineries practice low to minimal intervention when it comes to their wines: not adding anything to the wine, caring for the grapes/apples all year round, practicing organic or sustainable farming, etc.)
Remhoogte, a small family-run estate, comes to us from Stellenbosch, South Africa, one of the regions best-known for making Bordeaux blends. This “Soaring Eagle” is a Cabernet Sauvignon-Syrah blend aged in French oak giving off flavors of ripe berries, cedar, vanilla & spice. The other two wines come to us from Willamette Valley, Oregon. Art+Science makes some outstanding traditional & natural cider. Their “Little Apples” is made from foraged apples, small in size & some of the blend is even from crab apples. It’s aged in French barrels to pull out some of the intense tannins but makes for a crisp, dry, bubbly cider. And lastly, Eyrie Vineyards has been a staple wine in my home. They’re also a pioneer in the Oregon wine industry, having planted some of the first European vinifera since Prohibition. Named after the nest of the red-tailed hawks in the vineyard, this is the first time Eyrie has been available in NC in years. Be some of the first guests to pick up their Estate Pinot Gris — it spends a whole year maturing on it’s lees to further add complexity & texture to this classic style that is now synonymous with Oregon wines. Green pears, apricots, lime, grassy notes, & yellow raspberries.
A stellar bundle for the price. Only available until December 9, so don’t hesitate too long! Next week, they’ll be a completely new wine pack available!
