
April NCPS Poetry reading with Len Lawson and A.E. Hines
Join us on Sunday, April 30 for our monthly event with the North Carolina Poetry Society. This month features Len Lawson, Negro Asylum for the Lunatic Insane, and A.E. Hines, Any Dumb Animal.
Dr. Len Lawson is author of Negro Asylum for the Lunatic Insane, Chime, and co-editor of The Future of Black: Afrofuturism, Black Comics, and Superhero Poetry. He earned a PhD in English Literature and Criticism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is currently Assistant Professor of English at Newberry College.
AE Hines’s debut collection, Any Dumb Animal, received Honorable Mention in the NC Poetry Society’s 2022 Brockman-Campbell Book contest. His work has also appeared in Alaska Quarterly Review, The Southern Review, Rhino, American Poetry Review, Poet Lore, The Greensboro Review, and I-70 Review. He resides in Charlotte and Medellín, Colombia.
