The Bluegrass Experience

November 19, 2017   |   3:00 pm

Join The Chatham Arts Council for the 46th Anniversary of The Bluegrass Experience! Fearrington is honored to host this year’s celebration in The Fearrington Barn!

Admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Kids 3-12, $8.00. Tickets are available at McIntyre’s Bookstore in Fearrington, or from Tommy Edwards at his shop in downtown Pittsboro, Red Gate Antiques, Art and Music at 107 Hillsboro Street, or online from Chatham County Arts Council.

This year, we’re celebrating in fine fashion as the Chatham Arts Council once again brings together eight local bluegrass legends: Mike Aldridge on mandolin, Stan Brown on banjo, Jimmy Cameron on mandolin, Tommy Edwards at the front, Fiddlin’ Al McCanless on fiddle, Leroy Savage on guitar, Thomas “Snuffy” Smith on bass fiddle, and Keith Thomas on fiddle. Individually, these guys have musical accolades a mile long. Together, they’re known as The Bluegrass Experience, and this is their 46th year making music together.

You don’t play together for 46 years with that kind of talent without a few things happening for sure: You get really dang good. You learn a lot and teach a lot. And you end up with some pretty hilarious stories.

Pickin’: A Celebration will raise dollars for the Chatham Arts Council’s Chatham Artists-in-Schools Initiative and our Investing in Artists Program. We sure hope to see you there!
