Beyond Bordeaux
In love with wines from Bordeaux, but not a fan of the prices attached to them? Fearrington Village’s Beverage Director, Paula de Pano, will be hosting a wine class on October 19th at The Fearrington Granary focusing on the red wines of this region showcasing lesser known appellations as well as second and third labels from Grand Cru Chateaux including Chateau Latour (Premier Cru), Leoville Las Cases (Deuxième Cru), and Clerc Milon (Cinquième Cru). Second label wines are made by these same heralded Bordeaux properties from declassified Grand Vin grapes or younger vines.
With classified growth Bordeaux reaching over a few hundred dollars on current release, second label wines have the same pedigree without the enormous price tag. As the holiday season quickly approaches, take a look at what other options you have from Bordeaux without breaking the bank for your celebrations or as gifts for your loved wines that are sure to impress.
$50 per person, including a dish to pair with the wines. Please call 919.542.2121 for reservations.
