Celebrating Cru Beaujolais

at The Fearrington House

Fans of Pinot Noir and Syrah looking for wine alternatives to try out this year? How about Gamay?

Beaujolais, you mean – as in Beaujolais Nouveau? Yes and no. Coming from the same grape, Beaujolais Nouveaus are meant to be light and fresh. Cru Beaujolais, on the other hand, display a concentrated earthiness, a mix of red fruits, crushed gravel, aromatic florality and spices not uncommonly found in the more exalted sites of Burgundy and the Rhone Valley.

Join Ryan Aguirre and Laura Francis, our sommeliers at The Fearrington House Restaurant Bar for a flight of four Cru Beaujolais to learn about the different site specificities of each wine and discover your new Fall favorite. Wines included will be poured from exalted cru sites of Fleurie, Moulin a Vent, Regnie, and Morgon. First three guests every evening availing of the flight will get a complimentary charcuterie sampler.

$48 per person, exclusive of taxes and service charges. Reservations are NOT required – walk ins are welcome!
