Greetings fellow wine enthusiasts! Regardless of the degree to which you identify with the term, whether you like to enjoy a glass every now and then, or, like me, keep Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia on the bathroom sink for a little “light reading,” we here at The Goat would like to foster your love for the drink by offering wine every week that we will showcase here in the blog, and have available for tasting on Fridays from 6~7 p.m.
Grenache is the name of the game this week, but before you begin conjuring images of red wine in your head I should mention that the wines we have featured are a Grenache Blanc (a related but separate varietal), and a rosé of Grenache and Syrah. Both are very cool in their own way, with Silver using their own strains of yeast for fermentation and Chateau La Gordonne’s property being involved with winemaking since the days of Roman control of what is now Southern France.
Chateau La Gordonne’s Provençal rosé smells like a basket of freshly picked strawberries, and livens the palate with waves of red delicious apples and pears. Storied rosé from one of the best places to find it!
See you Friday!!!
