Croatia vs. Brazil
Zlatan, Plavac Mali, Hvar Island, Croatia, 2012
$8/glass or $38/bottle
This grape, Plavac Mali, is actually the child of Zinfandel, from both grapes ancestral home: Croatia. Like its parent, this is a juicy, spicy red wine with bramble, cinnamon, and peppery notes on the nose. It is full in body, with acidity that gives it character, and a perfect complement to the pork belly sandwich or the Bedford Burger.
