Exciting Trunk Shows Coming to Dovecote
Dovecote is getting ready for fall with fabulous clothing and accessories arriving daily. And what better way to kick off the season than Trunk Shows with the designers themselves! Taking place on 3 weekends in October from 10am to 5pm in the shop, these shows are free and open to the public. On October 8th and 9th is popular jewelry designer AJS Designs. Next on October 15th and 16th will be the collage-inspired accessories of Bittersweet Designs. And finally on October 22nd and 23rd, Dovecote welcomes Roxi Sugar of Angelrox to demonstrate her fantastic line of wrap garments. We hope you'll join us!

McIntyre's Books Hosts Celia Rivenbark!
On Saturday, September 24th at 11am, McIntyre's Books is delighted to welcome renowned Southern humorist Celia Rivenbark. She is back with another collection of essays, You Don't Sweat Much for a Fat Girl; Observations on Life from the Shallow End of the Pool, skewering everything from yoga to marriage to eyelashes. Celia Rivenbark is the author of the award-winning bestsellers Stop Dressing Your Six-Year-Old Like a Skank; Bless Your Heart, Tramp; Belle Weather; and You Can't Drink All Day If You Don't Start in the Morning. Born and raised in NC, Rivenbark writes a weekly nationally syndicated humor column for the Myrtle Beach Sun News.

Beautiful Weather Brings New Hours to Roost
After a brief reduction in Roost's hours to escape the summer heat, our beer garden will once again be offering local craft beers and a great place to gather with friends Thursday through Sunday. Live music will remain on Friday and Saturday evenings. Join us under the giant oaks Thursday through Saturday from 4pm to 8pm, Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.

Wine Class: Pioneers of the Sonoma Coast
Wine Director Maximilian Kast's new series of wine classes at The Fearrington Granary continues on Thursday, September 15th. This class will take an in-depth look at the unofficial sub-zones of the Sonoma Coast AVA, and the producers who have pioneered one of the more expressive regions in the US. We'll focus on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, study the struggle of planting vineyards in these remote locations, and look sustainable, organic, and biodynamic viticulture. $35 per guest, not including tax, includes light hors d'oeuvres from Chef Colin Bedford. Wine Maker Dinner: Blackbird Vineyards
Join Maximilian Kast on Wednesday, September 28th for a wine maker dinner with Paul Leary, president of Blackbird Vineyards. Michael Polenske purchased the Blackbird Vineyard in 2003 with the vision of making right-bank inspired Bordeaux Blends. The winery is run by President Paul Leary who also has created Maisonry, a studio of art, boutique wine showcasing, and interior design. Their wines are some of the best examples of Merlot and Cabernet Franc Dominant wines in the US. $125 per person, includes an hors d'oeuvres reception, exclude tax and gratuity. Now Accepting Thanksgiving Reservations
Our restaurants open their books today for Thanksgiving reservations! The Fearrington House Restaurant will serve a four course luncheon from 12pm to 4pm for $69 per person (reserve online). Thanksgiving luncheon will also be served at The Fearrington Granary from 12pm to 4pm, with three courses for $55 per person (reserve online). The Annual Pittsboro Pepper Festival
On Sunday, October 2nd from 4pm to 7pm, join Fearrington House Executive Chef
Colin Bedford along with other talented local chefs and brewers who will be serving up local flavors at the 4th Annual Pittsboro Pepper Festival! Held at the Briar Chapel community park, this festive event showcases all the plentiful peppers of the Piedmont while celebrating North Carolina farms, music and community. This year's musical entertainment will be provided by Lonnie Walker and Justin Robinson & The Mary Annettes.

Proceeds from the Pittsboro Pepper Festival go to The Abundance Foundation and Piedmont Biofarm, a year-round farm feeding the community and doing groundbreaking sustainable agricultural research. Halloween at Fearrington!
Join us in The Village Center for our annual Halloween Pumpkin Fest on Sunday, October 30th from 6pm to 8pm!
