Around The Village

Join us for Pumpkinfest!
The Village Center will host our annual Halloween Pumpkinfest on Sunday, October 30th from 6pm to 8pm. Stroll the village paths and enjoy the spectacular pumpkins intricately carved by Fearrington's gardeners and chefs, listen to live bluegrass from Guilty Pleasures, visit with Belties, and enjoy Spooky Storytime for the little ones at McIntyre's Books at 6pm and 6:30pm. The Shops will be open until 8pm, and The Fearrington Granary will serve family-style dinner (first come, first served) from 5pm-8pm. As always, this event is free and open to the public.

The Story of our belties: New VIdeo
Have you ever wondered how these rare Scottish cattle with white belts came to dot the pastures of Fearrington Village? In our newest video, Fearrington's Proprietor R.B. Fitch tells how the Belted Galloway came to be the property's mascot years ago. You'll also hear from Farm Manager Bob Strowd, the caretaker of all of our cows, who offers insight about the Belties' daily life here at Fearrington and their special role in the community.

At The Restaurants

Wine Class: Everything but Champagne
Wine Director Maximilian Kast's popular series of wine classes at The Fearrington Granary continues on Thursday, November 10th with a class that's all about bubbly. Max says, "we all love to see that sparkle in the glass, a perfect storm of bubbles rising up like a twister to the top of a just-poured glass. So in an effort to expand our repertoire of all that sparkles we will explore the wines of Franciacorta, Cava, the Loire Valley, Prosecco, and yes maybe even Slovenia." $35 per guest, not including tax, includes light hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Colin Bedford. Classes meet at 5pm at Galloways. Call (919) 542-2121.

This year's Final Wine Maker Dinner
Join Max Kast on Sunday, November 13th for the final Wine Maker Dinner of the 2011! Founder of Perception Winery Mark Ray joins us for this dinner. Ray started as a Sommelier in Charleston, SC. On a visit to Napa Valley he made the decision that what he really wanted to do was to make wine. From that moment on he worked with some of the best winemakers in the country. In 2007 he ventured out along with his partners Shane MacNicolas and Dean Felber to start Perception Winery. $125 per person, includes an hors d'oeuvres reception, excludes tax and gratuity. Call (919) 542-2121 to make your reservation.
