The Fearrington Folk Art Show turns 10 this year! Every square inch of the big Barn will be packed with marvelous 'outsider' art from over 35 of the South's finest folk artists. In celebration of our special anniversary, the weekend will be full of amazing art, discussions on all things folk art, demos and interviews. The show will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 18th and 19th from 10am to 5pm; $5 cash admission per person. Don't miss the ticketed private Collector's Preview Party from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, February 17th, complete with a folk art themed birthday cake created by Fearrington's chefs for all to enjoy! The Knot: Best Venues Award!
The votes are in for The Knot's "Best of Weddings 2012" and we are delighted to announce that The Fearrington House was chosen among the Best Venues in North Carolina! In the 10th year of these awards, 50,000 brides from all over our state voted for their favorites in 15 categories. Our venues for ceremonies and receptions include southern gardens, a four-season terrace with stone fireplace, an intimate garden house and The Barn, renowned for its rustic elegance. Wine DInner: Battle of the sommeliers!
On Sunday, February 19th, join us for a night of great food, great wine, and great fun as two good friends, Fearrington House's Maximilian Kast and On the Square's Inez Ribustello battle to the last drop. Inez was Wine Director at New York's famous Windows on the World, and took 2nd place in the American Sommelier Association's Best Sommelier in America competition. The night will begin with signature cocktails from each, then two wines will be paired with five courses, and at the end all guests will vote to determine the Best Sommelier that evening! $165/person incl. tax/gratuity (919) 542-2121.

The Wines of Piemonte and Lombardy
Max Kast's popular series of wine classes at The Fearrington Granary continues on Thursday, February 16th with a class on The Wines of Piemonte and Lombardy! At the base of the Alps, in the northwestern part of Italy, lies perhaps two of the most interesting winegrowing states in Italy. Attendees will take a look at wines from Barolo, Barbaresco, Carema, Valtellina, and Franciacorta. Special Dinner with Colman Andrews
On Sunday, March 4th at 6pm, we are delighted to welcome culinary writer Colman Andrews, winner of 6 James Beard Awards, to The Fearrington House for the next in our Culinary Arts & Letters series! The evening's menu will feature four courses from four of Colman's books, which will be prepared by Fearrington House Executive Chef Colin Bedford. $125 per person, includes a cocktail reception and four course dinner with wine pairings by Maximilian Kast.
