Join us in the shops of the Village Center on Sunday, December 7th, 12-4pm
for the 3rd Fearrington Holiday Market!
This is the perfect place to find unique gifts from local
artists, some of our favorite vendors and the
Shops at Fearrington. Savor roasted
chestnuts and mulled wine while browsing and enjoy holiday
music by Fearrington a cappella groups and The Bronze Voices Hand Bell
Choir. There will be holiday cookie decorating for the kids, and Chatham Outreach Alliance (CORA) will be
collecting canned food. This event is free to attend and open to the
public. (Please note - the event will be held throughout the Village
Center this year, and not in the Fearrington Barn as in years past.)

Storytelling with Donald Davis
Come to The Barn on Saturday, December 20th at 11am
for storytelling with Donald Davis! Donald has been
visiting us for over 17 years and is one of
the country's foremost storytellers. Instead of admission, visitors are
asked to bring canned food donations for CORA. (We ask that guests
not bring their own chairs for fire safety purposes; we'll have plenty
on hand!)

Fearrington Antiques Show Returns
On January 10th & 11th, The
Fearrington Barn will be overflowing with an outstanding selection of
18th-20th century American and Continental furniture and accessories at
our second Antiques Show! Find Southern furniture, silver, jewelry, fine carpets, prints, paintings, early
tools, porcelains, architectural pieces and more offered by 26
exceptional dealers, all of whom guarantee authenticity. Presented by nationally
recognized antiques show organizer Dordy Fontinel. Admission is $10 per person.

We are delighted to announce that
The Fearrington House Restaurant is
now designated as a Certified Green RestaurantTM
by the national not-for-profit organization,
The Green Restaurant
Association. The Fearrington House is the sole participant that
is also a 2009 AAA Five Diamond recipient. We have long embraced environmentally responsible practices;
sourcing with local farmers for organic ingredients,
harvesting vegetables, fruits and herbs from our own gardens
and greenhouses, using on-site bee pollination, converting cooking oil to fuel, and
sustaining a comprehensive recycling program.

thrilled to have them as our newest Certified Green RestaurantTM"

 McIntyre's Fine Books Presents
Joseph M. Flora
On Saturday, December 13th at 11am,
McIntyre's
Fine Books welcomes Joseph
M. Flora back to Fearrington to read from his book, entitled
Reading Hemingway's Men Without Women, which guides readers toward
understanding how Hemingway tested old ideas of family, gender, race,
ethnicity, and manhood. Joseph M. Flora is the former chair of the
English department at UNC Chapel Hill and has held offices in several
literary and professional organizations. He is on the editorial boards
of Studies in Short Fiction, The Southern Literary Journal,
The Thomas Wolfe Review, and The Hemingway Review.
The Giving
Tree At McIntyre's Fine Books

 Luminaries at Fearrington
Friday, December 14th from 6pm - 8pm
The paths of the Fearrington Village Center will be lined with
luminaries from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, December 14th. The Village
will be decked out with traditional English Holiday decorations and
the
stores will be open for holiday shopping. Proceeds from the luminaries
will benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill, and donations
will be accepted during the event. Call (919) 913-2040 for more

Honors For Our Belties!
Two of Fearrington's
Belted Galloway cows have just returned from the
2008 North American International Livestock Exposition held in
Louisville, Kentucky. Awards went to Jamie, a two and a half year old
female, and her calf Alfalfa, a rare dunn-colored calf born this May.
They took the Grand Champion Award for a Cow/Calf Pair in their breed,
along with First Place in their division for Cow/Calf Pairs. This
National Show is the world's largest all-breed, purebred livestock
competition with 20 breeds of cattle competing.
