For our weekly brief of upcoming author events!
Our literary tastemaker Pete Mock shares titles worth reading.
Our team works to ensure we have the best books in all genres and great author events for our community. Whether you’re looking for a personal book recommendation or searching for the perfect gift for a friend, our staff will help you choose a read you won’t be able to put down!
Keebe Fitch, Manager & Event Coordinator
Keebe first opened McIntyre’s in 1989. Daughter of R.B. and Jenny Fitch, Fearrington’s creators, Keebe has been a part of the Fearrington family business since the early 1980s. When R.B. felt that an independent bookstore would be an ideal addition to Fearrington’s growing Village Center, he turned to Keebe to put it all together. In addition to earning a BA in History from UNC, she also received an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2003.
Pete Mock, Book Buyer & Mystery Guru
Pete calls them as he reads them. He came to McIntyre’s Books in 1995 and has developed a reputation for recommending lesser-known mystery authors and often-missed authors from other genres. He’s never short on opinions but is willing to back up what he has to say. Customers come in and call regularly to check on what he’s reading and make plans accordingly!
Sarah Carr, Children's Book Buyer
With 30 years of experience selling books, including being a longtime employee at McIntyre’s, Sarah was an obvious choice to take over the role of Children’s Book Buyer. If you need assistance with selections for children, she is your go-to source. Sarah lives in Pittsboro with her husband and two sons.
Katherine Pinard, Bookseller
While you’re in the shop, you will also likely meet our knowledgeable bookseller Katherine. She knows the collection well, so don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations!
