With Spring in full swing, it is time to begin a new routine for your skin care needs. After months of exposing your skin to dry indoor heated air, dead skin cells accumulate at the surface. Even though your skin should naturally shed dead skin cells, it does not do a very efficient job – making your need for exfoliation even more critical. The cold, harsh weather outside, and dry, heated air inside during the winter months does quite a bit of damage to our skin. Add to that the fact that we don’t get much sun exposure and it is easy to see that our skin needs a little prepping to get it ready for the warm spring days outside. Now is a great time to start getting your skin ready for spring.
Your first goal should be to get rid of any dead skin cells on your body. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, healthier, more even skin tone. This will prepare your skin for the moisturizing that needs to follow. We have a wonderful new Vanilla Lavender exfoliation treatment that can help. This treatment begins with a dry brush to help prepare your skin for the organic benefits of the Vanilla Lavender fragrances.
Vanilla helps to cleanse the skin. Its anit-bacterial effects help to reduce the occurance of acne. Vanilla is rich in antioxidants which prevent and reverse skin damage caused by free radicals.Vanilla is a good source of B-Vitamins like niacin, thiamin, Vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid which play an important role in the maintenance of healthy skin. The antioxidant properties of vanilla protect your skin from damage caused by environmental pollutants and toxins.
Did you know that Lavender is a fantastic muscle pain reliever? This has a calming effect on the nervous system, which makes it perfect for soothing the nerves and relaxing the mind. This helps to relax your muscles and works an an anti-inflammatory agent. The gentle scent will lower emotional stress, nervous tension, exhaustion, and restlessness, and increase your mind’s productivity.
The combination of the Vanilla Lavender is used in several seasonal treatments at The Spa at Fearrington. We offer either 60 or 90 min. exfoliation treaments for the body. We also offer the Vanilla Lavender Seasonal Manicure and Pedicure to get your nails ready for the season of sandals. Call today, book your spa treatments and get your skin ready for the Spring.
