Our Spring Brew

Fearrington’s Wine Director Maximilian Kast and Fullsteam Brewery’s Sean Lilly Wilson have combined talents for a collaboration in the name of beer! The result is a seasonal beer line that use local ingredients to compliment each season right here in central North Carolina.

Their latest beer creation, the Spring Tart Saison is made with 50% Two Row Barley, 30% North Carolina Malted Wheat, and 20% Torrified Wheat, using both Hallertau Magnum and Santium hops. It is fermented with a wild yeast cultivated from Chinese Purple Lilacs found in the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Raleigh, N.C. It is a floral beer with notes of orange citrus, banana, biscuit, honey, and tarragon —  refreshing and tart on the palate with a perfect balance of fruit and acidity.
