Rainy Days?

Starting in late June, and continuing all through the summer, the various species of Rain Lilies have begun their show in the Gardens at Fearrington. Whether Zephyranthes, Habranthes, or Cooperii, the rain lilies are all bulbous plants and part of the Amaryllis family. Tough, drought tolerant, and deer-proof, these beauties come in colors ranging from white to yellow, to brightest pink — such as this clump located across from McIntyre’s Books front entrance. The Gardeners have been adding numerous varieties over the years to ensure that there is a continuous display for our summer visitors.
