One day several years ago, a couple visiting us from New Jersey shared a checklist of requirements that a community had to meet before they would consider moving here. Turns out we met every one and they soon became Fearrington residents! Borrowing from the idea, we compiled our own checklist of reasons why folks say they've moved here.

Mild climate. We enjoy four distinct seasons without the extremes. With average highs varying between 50 degrees in January to 89 degrees in August, outdoor activities such as golf, walking and running are possible year-round here.

Natural beauty. We're located on the beautiful, forested, rolling hills of a former dairy farm; most pastures have been preserved and contain our curious Belted Galloway cows which greet all who enter our community. Cultural and educational opportunities. Encompassing three world-class universities (each with a lifelong learning center), the Triangle is obsessed with higher - and continuing - education.
