Affiliated with The Duke Center for Living in Durham, The Duke
Center for Living at Fearrington is more than a fitness center. It
is where men and women can make positive, healthy changes that help
them feel good about themselves. While some fitness centers may have
a one-size-fits-all approach, The Duke Center for Living provides a wide variety of options
and programs to meet the needs of each individual. Its highly
professional staff includes exercise physiologists, fitness
specialists, massage therapists and personal trainers. All committed
to helping you achieve your goals.
Popular classes available at the Duke Center for Living at
Fearrington include Strength, Flexibility and Balance classes,
Aerobics (includes low-impact and step aerobics), Cycling, Kick
Boxing, Water Aerobics, Arthritic Aerobics, Yoga, Tai Chi and
Pilates.
Built in 2005, the center offers the latest equipment,
including a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, an indoor suspended
track, weight machines and free weights, elliptical cross trainers
and NuStep cross trainers, treadmills, recumbent bikes, rowing
machines, and steppers.
Construction Update: As part of Galloway Ridge's
Phase 2 expansion, The Duke Center for Living will see updated locker
rooms, an additional massage room and more space for outpatient
therapy and physician services. Here's a rough schedule:
- Fall 2011: renovated locker rooms and expanded
massage therapy space opens
- Spring 2012: expanded physical area opens
