Fearrington offers many ways to stay active and healthy. Walking paths and trails extend throughout the community, and since we enjoy four distinct seasons without extreme temperatures, they can be used virtually year-round. Walk to the Duke Center for Living, a state-of-the-art, comprehensive wellness facility managed by Duke Health, which offers amenities from the latest exercise equipment to an indoor lap pool to massage and physical therapists. During the summer months, walk to Fearrington’s Swim & Croquet Club. Resident clubs focused on outdoor activities from golfing to biking offer easy, social and fun ways to stay fit.
Looking for the occasional healthy indulgence? The Spa at Fearrington offers a range of relaxing and pampering treatments.
Primary care doctor choices abound nearby. In addition to Fearrington’s own Duke Clinic, three miles north lies the North Chatham Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, part of UNC Health Care. These clinics offer access to the state-of-the-art facilities and specialists at both UNC Heath Care eight miles away and Duke Medicine twenty miles away.
Every week from April to November, there’s the growers only Fearrington Farmers Market, now over 20 years old. The seasonal fruits and vegetables that are offered are often picked that very morning from neighboring farms. Freshly prepared, healthy cuisine is also available at our restaurants, under the direction of Chef Colin Bedford.
