When planning a wedding, rehearsal dinner or a special
celebration, Fearrington's special events team will work with you to
create an unforgettable special occasion. Gilda and/or Cheryl will
be your primary points of contact, but everyone listed below will be
working toward your successful special day, as you've described it to
us! |

Gilda McDaniel -
Special Events Manager
A graduate
of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Gilda has been
at Fearrington for over18 years, first working in McIntyre's Books, then
managing The Market Café (the predecessor to The Fearrington Granary) before
becoming our wedding planner over 10 years ago. Gilda's extensive
community involvement includes her former role as president of the
board of Chatham County Arts Council. |
Cheryl-Anne
Kast - Weddings, Special Events & Catering
Originally from South Africa, Cheryl graduated in 2003 from the
Institute of Culinary Art at Spier in Stellenbosch. She worked in
the kitchens of the renowned Conran Restaurant Group in the UK for 2
years before coming to The Fearrington House Restaurant in 2006.
After gaining valuable experience in The Fearrington House kitchens, Cheryl
joined Weddings & Special Events in 2009. |
Mary
Stevens - Floral Designer
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Mary grew up in a
large family of avid gardeners, which started her interest of all
things natural at an early age. She has been creating floral
displays exclusively for Fearrington weddings since 2001. Mary and
her team of talented artists work with each bridal couple to create a one
of a kind experience for each celebration. |
Jill
Leckey - Chocolatiere & Cake Designer
Jill joined the Fearrington House in 2005 as Chocolatiere
following training at The French Culinary Institute and the famed
Jacques Torres Chocolate Shop in New York City. In 2009, she
took charge of cake design for weddings and special events at
Fearrington as well. Her beautiful dessert creations and decadent hand-crafted chocolates are available at The Belted Goat
in
the Village Center. |
Carlos
Moreno - Catering Manager
Carlos began his career in hospitality in his native Puerto Rico at
fellow Relais & Chateaux property The Horned Dorset Primavera. He
came to the United States in 2005 and spent two years at The Inn at
Little Washington and The Lake Placid Lodge. He then joined The
Fearrington House Restaurant, where he worked as a waiter from 2007
to 2009. Carlos returned in January, 2011 and was promoted to
Catering Manager in August that year. |
Colin
Bedford
- Fearrington House Executive Chef
A native of England, Colin came to the The Fearrington House in 2005
as Executive Sous Chef and was promoted to Executive Chef in 2008. Colin's culinary interest began at an early
age, taking him to The Castle Hotel in the UK and
Canada's Prince of Wales Hotel. Colin maintains partnerships with
local farmers to use the finest produce in the region and in
our gardens.
