Wine Director Maximilian Kast oversees all wine experiences throughout the Village Center. He describes the wine program as, “Encompassing wines of character and quality curated for optimal drinking with Fearrington cuisine.”

The Fearrington House Restaurant’s wine cellar is a library. Each wine allows you to discover a story, as told by our wine team. Fearrington’s sommeliers expertly select wine for you based on your preferences to pair perfectly with Chef Colin Bedford’s cuisine.

Choose to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, enjoy wine pairings with your three or four course meal, or purchase a glass or bottle at The Fearrington House Restaurant’s full-service bar to enjoy by the fireplace in the lounge.

Wine pairings by our sommeliers include sparkling, white, red, dessert, fortified wines and the occasional beer. Allow our wine professionals to treat your taste buds to unique grape varietals and wine regions!

What will you find?

  • An extensive wine list boasting over 1,500 selections available by the bottle
  • A by the glass wine list featuring organic, bio-dynamic and sustainable wineries that is changed seasonally
  • A wine program that has received the ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ from The Wine Spectator every year since 2004

Chetan Reddy, Sommelier

Before joining the Fearrington team in 2015, Chetan worked in fine dining for many years and was given the opportunity to run the wine/beverage program at the Siena Hotel in Chapel Hill. He also worked at Black House at Straw Valley under master sommelier Fred Dexheimmer and at ONE Restautant. Chetan is a Level 2 certified sommelier.

Colin Williams, Sommelier

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 2013, Colin returned home to NC and accepted a job at The Fearrington House Restaurant as a line cook. After two years, Colin became interested in wine and, under the guidance of Maximilian Kast, began his wine career. After passing his Certified Sommelier course in July of 2015, he became Fearrington’s Assistant Sommelier.
