5:30 p.m. | The Fearrington Granary
Join Wine Director Maximilian Kast for an exploration of two very unique wine regions, Alsace in France and the Pfalz in Germany. These regions share many things, the Rhine River, a border, dry growing seasons, and a capability of making the most ethereal full-bodied dry Rieslings in the world. But Riesling is not the only grape that excels in these two regions. Sylvaner, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, and Pinot Noir all shine equally and expressively, making for some of the most characterful wines in the world. We will discuss the history of both regions, climate, soil, grapes, and much more. This class will be just in time for spring drinking so don’t miss out. $25 per guest, includes tax and service fee.
