Participatory Poetry Event
“Bring paper and pen and prepare to be struck by the Muse!”
Peter Mock, McIntyre’s Books
Fearrington author, Forrest Heaton, has published a new book entitled The Sixty-Minute Poet: In Sixty Minutes You’ll Sim-ply Be Writing Your Own Po-et-ry! Forrest’s promise to the reader is: “You give me sixty-minutes of focused, timed, uninterrupted reading/writing and you will be well on your way to a lifetime of writing poetry, having fun with it, perhaps even getting really good at it!” Here’s what Barry Reece, Fearrington resident, poet, author, and member of the Fearrington Writer’s Group had to say: “Forrest Heaton’s new self-teaching poetry-writing guide provides a winning formula for writing poems that are accessible and deeply human. This sixty-minute guide is must reading for those who have little or no experience writing poetry and it provides an excellent refresher course for the experienced poet. Warning: this self-teaching guide may thwart many of your preconceived views on poetry writing.”
McIntyre’s is pleased to host the first event based on The Sixty Minute Poet by Forrest Heaton, September 8th —2:00-3:00 sixty-minute instruction, 3:00-3:30 Q&A and sharing, 3:30-4:00 wine/cheese/book signing. Bring writing equipment with which you are most comfortable. This event is designed for persons with no experience writing/reading poetry through persons with considerable experience. It will be learning by doing. This will be a new, fun, happy event!
