Wednesday, June 5th, we’ll gather in the Beer Garden at Roost to welcome the Kentucky chef for a Books & Cooks BBQ dinner in honor of Edward Lee’s terrific new cookbook, drink NC brewery beers, and hear first-hand on this June night, straight from the author, about many things “Smoke & Pickles.”
Chef-owner of the acclaimed Louisville restaurant 610 Magnolia, the charming Edward Lee, excels in recipes filled with pickling, fermenting, frying, curing, and smoking—overlapping flavors and techniques that led this Korean-American exceptional cook to feel right at home in the South.
A three-time James Beard finalist for Best Chef Southeast, Lee survived 14 weeks on the 2012 season of Bravo’s Top Chef, and successfully challenged culinary royalty on Food Network’s Iron Chef America. Lee also finds time to write a column for Organic Gardening magazine.
Ticket price of $85 includes recipes cooked by Chef Bedford and the Fearrington House team, beer tasting, tax and gratuity—and an autographed copy of Smoke & Pickles.
As with most of our Books & Cooks events, Chef Colin Bedford will join in, once we’ve all had a chance to taste select recipes, and talk with chef-author about cooking from the book’s recipes. Good conversation, a good time. Please join us!
