Stop by and see all the changes at our deli, wine shop and cafe, The Goat, located in Fearrington Village near Chapel Hill, NC. We offer freshly prepared chopped salads, soups, sandwiches and decadent confectioneries made next door in the kitchen of The Fearrington House Restaurant. We serve freshly brewed coffee, our own Fearrington House mix, roasted on site and available in regular, decalf and expresso. Also enjoy Maple View ice cream during the day.

What’s new? A new sophisticated look including expanded seating (don’t miss our fun communal table by the roaster!). Hours have been expanded and we’re offering evening light fare such as cheese plates and charcuterie. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing meal or beverage, day or night!

Enjoy a vastly expanded selections of wine by the bottle and glass, all hand selected by our sommeliers for their quality, character, and reasonable price. We offer wines from smaller quality producers and from importers that are focused on traditional wines from winemakers that use sustainable, organic or biodynamic viticulture.

Says Wine Director Maximilian Kast,”if it is not good enough for the wine team at Fearrington to want to drink it on a regular basis, it will not be on the shelf. We are pouring our wine and beer hearts out for you; we hope you enjoy!”

The Goat's Specialities

Housemade Breads Oh My!

The Fearrington House bakes a variety of breads fresh each morning, including farmhouse baguettes, herb & cheese focaccia, ciabatta and more! Stop in and grab some for an addition to dinner at home or enjoy bread and wine — a delightful combination!

The Fearrington Blend Coffee

Soon after the Fearrington House opened in 1980, we created The Fearrington House Blend to share with our guests. A mix of El Salvadoran, Guatemalan and Sumatran coffees, it is a mild coffee with a chocolaty and earthy aroma and a smooth, well-balanced flavor. Come experience our signature blend, roasted at The Belted Goat, and served in all of our restaurants! Join our coffee club and receive a pound of free coffee for every 10 pounds you buy.

Beltie Goodies

Fearrington celebrates its beloved belties in every way possible! Including goodies that let guests take a piece of Fearrington home with them! Whether it is a Beltie T-Shirt, a Beltie Tote, or a stuffed Beltie (they even moo), our Belted Galloway cows leave a smile on everyone’s face!
