Wine Tastings with Xavyer

Stop by Fridays between 6pm and 7pm and try some exceptional wines from smaller producers. Always a new theme so see what’s in store!

We’ve been busy making the Goat even better! Stop by and see all the changes. We’re still offering the same freshly prepared chopped salads, soups, sandwiches and decadent confectioneries made next door in the kitchen of The Fearrington House Restaurant. We’re still serving freshly brewed coffee – our own Fearrington House mix, roasted on site and available in regular, decalf and expresso. We’re still serving Maple View ice cream during the day. What’s new?

A new sophisticated look including expanded seating (don’t miss our fun communal table by the roaster!). Enjoy a vastly expanded selections of wine by the bottle and glass, all hand selected by our talented team of sommeliers (see next paragraph for more). Hours have been expanded Thursdays through Sundays to 9pm and we’re now offering evening light fare such as cheese plates and charcuterie, plus live music. It’s the perfect place for a casual relaxing evening now!

The philosophy behind the wine chosen for the Fearrington Goat is on quality, character, and enjoyment at a reasonable price. We offer wines from smaller quality producers and from importers that are focused on traditional wines from winemakers that use sustainable, organic or biodynamic viticulture. “The selections will try and be a mini-snapshot of the world of wine, trying to feature producers from the Old World and the New, from the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern, from Bubbly, to still, to fortified and with beer in between. It will be a joy to the senses, and a celebration of good drinks of all kinds,” says Wine Director Maximilian Kast. “Our number one criteria however is quality above everything else, if it is not good enough for the wine team at Fearrington to want to drink it on a regular basis, it will not be on the shelf. We are pouring our wine and beer hearts out for you, we hope you enjoy.”
