Wednesday, May 8th, 2013: Wine Dinner with Jean-François Coquard of Tenuta Mazzolino
The Tenuta Mazzolino winery is located in Oltrepò Pavese (the largest wine producing area in the Lombardy region of Italy). We will be joined by winemaker Jean-François Coquard for pairings of their awesome Chardonnay, Sparkling Wine, Bonarda and Pinot Noir. The dinner will be four courses (plus amuse-bouche) paired with the wines for $95 including tax and gratuity.
Thursday, June 6th, 2013: Grower Champagne Class
Join Fearrington House Wine Director Maximilian Kast for a class on Grower Champagnes. In this class we will look at what makes a Grower Champagne producer different then the larger Negociant producers, and examine wines from one of each of the five different regions of Champagne. As we approach summer it is the perfect time to find some new bubbly that can be enjoyed with friends and family. Price is 60.00 per person, including tax and gratuity. Along with the five Champagnes, guests will be enjoying cheese plates as well.
Thursday, July 11th, 2013: The Return of the Brothers Kast
Join Fearrington House Wine Director Maximilian Kast and Goat Lady Dairy Cheesemonger Alexander Kast for a tasting of fine cheese and refreshing Loire Valley Wines. Why Loire Valley wines you ask? Because in our humble opinion the wines of the Loire Valley are some of the most natural pairings for Goat Milk Cheeses. Alexander will be aging some special cheeses for the class, one’s that are not to be missed. Since the Loire river is such a long river (the longest in France), and has such a diverse amount of grape varieties, we will have a wide variety to choose from to enjoy with the Goat Lady Dairy cheese. Thursday, August 8th, 2013: New World, Old World — A Comparison
Join Fearrington House Wine Director Maximilian Kast for a comparison tasting of wines from both the Old World (Europe) and the New World (well everything but Europe). Here we will look at 4 classic grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Gruner Veltliner, Syrah, and Pinot Noir, and taste two different wines focused on these grapes. One wine will be from the most classic region in Europe that the grape is grown, the other will come from a new world growing region, we will compare and contrast the wines, see where there are similarities and where the wines differ from each other. This class will include a tasting of 8 wines and a cheese plate. Price is 60.00 per person, including tax and gratuity.

When people talk about the great beers of the world there is no group that anyone denies belongs on the top and that is the beers of the Belgian and Dutch Trappist breweries. The names of Achel, Chimay, Westmalle, and Orval are sacred names in the world of fine beer, and the stories behind them are a reflection of on tradition in the face of moderntiy.
