Just in from the printer - the Fearrington holiday cards!
About 15 years ago, this whimsical, annual holiday tradition started. The cards are conceptualized and illustrated by Fearrington Village's super talented merchandizing manager, Daneen Griffin, who also creates all the incredibly charming merchandise displays you’ll see at Dovecote, our home and garden shop. Daneen’s illustrations of The Fearrington House Cookbook, which was first published in 1987 and remains in reprint, has helped make this a timeless classic.
While the card’s design changes from year to year, they always incorporate our beloved mascots, Belted Galloway cows, in some fashion. Last year, for example, Daneen cleverly drew three Belties stacked on top of each other, one smaller than the next, to form a holiday tree. This year, Daneen used pen and ink, and a watercolor wash, to create an inspired image of a Beltie pulling a sleigh laden with Christmas presents and with one of our Tennessee Fainting goats at the helm!
Starting today, these one-of-a-kind cards (and envelopes) will be sold in packs of 10 for $15 in the Beltie mezzanine section between Dovecote and The Belted Goat. They make the perfect way to express your Fearrington holiday spirit!
