Summer is almost here in the South, and there is no better place to spend it than with us at The Fearrington House Inn. There are numerous gardens, flower beds, and fresh botanicals pleasing to the eye and soul scattered around the Inn. If you look through the arbors of Jenny’s Garden next to the Sun Room Patio (exclusive to Inn guests!), you can see crabapple trees lining an intimate wedding venue. Just behind that, you can spot a fenced-in herb garden, officially used by the chefs of The... Full Post >

If you have visited any of our shops or stayed in our Inn, you may have noticed a little yellow book propped on the counter for sale or lying on a coffee table next to your room's plush sofa. That familiar yellow book is none other than The Fearrington House Cookbook: A Celebration of Food, Flowers, and Herbs, written by R.B. Fitch's late wife Jenny Fitch and illustrated by Dovecote's merchandising manager Daneen Eaton.
Arranged by season and celebration, this all-inclusive book offers... Full Post >

Visitors to The Fearrington House Inn and The Spa at Fearrington have become very familiar with Molton Brown, a luxurious bath product line from The United Kingdom. The line perfectly complements Fearrington’s atmosphere of British countryside in the American South.
The rich scents make any shower or bath a lavish experience, and the bar soaps found in the Inn’s bathrooms are also for purchase at The Spa’s boutique, Haven. The exfoliating bar soap contains ground pecan shells that... Full Post >

When the temperature drops there are a few things that become necessities: scarves, hats, mittens, wool socks and my morning cup of coffee. The way a warm cup of coffee warms me up and awakens my senses prepares me for the activities of the day. Throughout the year, Fearrington Village is enveloped in that same aroma of freshly roasted coffee. In the winter the aroma is more powerful and even more welcoming. When I sense that smell I know our coffee roaster Julian Vargas is busy at work at... Full Post >

Let's just say it, there are a lot of wineries that claim that they are the best (in their region, of all producers, of a certain grape varietal, etc). The idea of "the best" is, as I think we can all agree, largely subjective. Now, when we talk of a wine which is in and of itself completely different than anything else, I think that the classification "the best" no longer does that wine justice. How can you compare a wine so unique to others? When I speak about the wines of Ted Lemon from his... Full Post >
