Help your guests find their way to their seats with a unique escort card and display! Escort cards and how they are displayed present a great opportunity to show off your wedding style and share something special with your guests. Whether you personalize each card with a  memory or turn it into a sweet note as a keepsake, there are plenty of... Full Post >

Traditional White with Touches of Green

This past weekend we hosted a very sweet intimate wedding dinner at The Fearrington Granary in Galloway's private dining room. Jennifer and Tom celebrated their special day with 25 of their closest friends and family. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the Gallery area. Cocktail hour was followed by a splendid three course dinner in Galloway's. The room looked beautiful with traditional white and green arrangements with fun touches of ferns from our gardens. A beautiful... Full Post >

Flower Picking

I absolutely love this time of year in the Village!  All our gardens are so beautiful, filled with pretty blooms and happy colors! Whilst walking the gardens with a potential bride this morning, I bumped into our floral designer picking flowers from the gardens for the village and events this weekend. She had a sweet little picking basket filled with hellebore, solomon seal, mint and columbine. Just gorgeous! Our gardens are colorful year-round, but this time of year the gardens are... Full Post >

Meet Gilda McDaniel

This is my dear friend Gilda McDaniel. Today is her 25th anniversary here at Fearrington. That’s a long time, especially in the hospitality business. I shall now proceed to thoroughly embarrass her (she really doesn't like it when we brag on her - sorry Gilda). She is a true mensch - someone that we can all count on as a friend; someone who is always there to help when you are in a pickle. She is the coworker who jumps in and helps you move 200 ceremony chairs just as the rainstorm starts.... Full Post >

Flower Girl Fun

Here’s another twist on past brides bringing their children to see where they were married. Such fun! Elizabeth married Ethan here on June 17, 2006. It was a lovely day. Camille married Ryan on August 17, 2013. On this particular August 17th, 5-year-old Hannah, daughter of Elizabeth and Ethan, served as flower girl for Camille. Hannah was not alone! Her mom Elizabeth served as bridesmaid, too.  This was a true family affair as Hannah’s wonderful grandmother was also in attendance... Full Post >

A Rare Quiet Saturday

About once a year, on a random day, it happens...we get a quiet Saturday afternoon. Very strange!  Well, a few weeks ago was the 2014 date for such a thing, and I got spend a really nice hour with the "Flower Shop Girls" (as we affectionately call them) looking at a large selection of Krystal Kast’s fabulous wedding photos.  It was such fun! While looking at Krystal’s work is always a pleasure, the most enjoyable part of the afternoon for me was listening to the girls as they looked... Full Post >

Sisters Kast

Not only am I lucky enough to work with the talented photographer Krystal Kast, I'm also fortunate enough to be able to call her my sister-in-law! She is an amazing talent capturing special moments at so many of Fearrington's weddings. She is easy to work with and just fun to be around. She captures people at their best and happiest! I get to spend my weekends making couples and families happy while spending time with Krystal. I look forward to another amazing wedding season and spending... Full Post >

Sweet Music!

This time of year is very busy in the wedding office with planning and getting our couples ready for their special day. Many couples often ask me; "Is ceremony music imoportant?" My answer a firm" absolutely!" There is nothing more wonderful than guests arriving to the sound of sweet music in the gardens before your nuptials, it just sets the tone for the rest of your day. Finding music for your wedding day doesn't have to be a daunting task, nor should you relegate your search to one genre or... Full Post >

Please Find your Way to your Seat!

One of my favorite parts of a planning meeting is the creative end of a wedding and helping couples create what expresses their personalities. This past summer I worked with a very fun couple that were looking for a different way to assign guests to their tables and seats. I found two amazing ladders in our warehouse and combined that with clotheslines and laundry pegs. They provided beautiful hand-written place cards to be pinned to the clothesline. It was so great to see something other than... Full Post >

Winter Wonderland Wedding

Dreaming of a beautiful wedding in the snow?  Sure!  We can do that, with a little help from Mother Nature. I’m not sure how you get much prettier than this, in fact. Thanks to this gorgeous and unbelievably sweet couple, we are off to a great start for our 2014 season.  Very exciting!  It’s going to be a great year. Full Post >
