This is Where the Magic Starts!

Anyone who has attended a Fearrington wedding, stayed overnight at the Inn, or dined at The Fearrington House has undoubtedly been wowed by the floral artistry of Mary Stevens and her talented team. While having the ability to choose from among the best in bloom the world has to offer each week, the Fearrington designers have another asset -- special beds of cutting plants created just for them by Gardener Donna Mears! With one located behind the Flower Shop, and another behind Roost, the... Full Post >

Jessica & Ben

Jessica and Ben tied the knot on May 18th, 2014. They held their ceremony at Fearrington's Crab Apple Trees and celebrated their "I dos" in The Garden Terrace! How did y'all meet? Ben and I met as undergraduates at Duke University. We had attended a speaking event and struck up a conversation on the way back to campus. I was interested in Ben right away, but he was probably more interested in the substance of our conversation at the time. We decided to meet again to talk; our talks... Full Post >

Mary Margaret & Alex

Mary Margaret and Alex tied the knot on April 5, 2014. They held their ceremony at Fearrington's Willow Oaks and celebrated their "I dos" in The Fearrington Barn! How did y'all meet? We met through mutual friends while living in D.C. on Good Friday, after both getting stuck in the city for Easter weekend. A blessing in disguise!   Tell us about the engagement? Alex proposed on the beach two years later in Emerald Isle, NC on Good Friday!   What made... Full Post >

Kennedy & Mark

Kennedy and Mark tied the knot on February 15, 2014. They held their ceremony at Fearrington's Garden Terrace and celebrated their "I dos" in The Fearrington Barn! How did y'all meet? Mark and I met in college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Though we hung out in the same large group of friends, it wasn’t until late our second year that we could both put names to faces. Mark left to study abroad in Hong Kong the following summer and then I left for Chile, South... Full Post >

Elise and David tied the knot on March 14, 2014. They held their ceremony at Fearrington's Willow Oaks and celebrated their "I dos" in The Fearrington Barn! How did y'all meet? During the fall of my freshman year I noticed a cute boy at Carmichael Gym on North Carolina State University's campus. I finally realized I was planning workouts around making eye contact with him! My roommate, Jamie Roberts, told one of David's friends I mentioned him and over Christmas Break, David asked to be... Full Post >

Traditional White with Touches of Green

This past weekend we hosted a very sweet intimate wedding dinner at The Fearrington Granary in Galloway's private dining room. Jennifer and Tom celebrated their special day with 25 of their closest friends and family. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the Gallery area. Cocktail hour was followed by a splendid three course dinner in Galloway's. The room looked beautiful with traditional white and green arrangements with fun touches of ferns from our gardens. A beautiful... Full Post >

Flower Picking

I absolutely love this time of year in the Village!  All our gardens are so beautiful, filled with pretty blooms and happy colors! Whilst walking the gardens with a potential bride this morning, I bumped into our floral designer picking flowers from the gardens for the village and events this weekend. She had a sweet little picking basket filled with hellebore, solomon seal, mint and columbine. Just gorgeous! Our gardens are colorful year-round, but this time of year the gardens are... Full Post >

Meet Gilda McDaniel

This is my dear friend Gilda McDaniel. Today is her 25th anniversary here at Fearrington. That’s a long time, especially in the hospitality business. I shall now proceed to thoroughly embarrass her (she really doesn't like it when we brag on her - sorry Gilda). She is a true mensch - someone that we can all count on as a friend; someone who is always there to help when you are in a pickle. She is the coworker who jumps in and helps you move 200 ceremony chairs just as the rainstorm starts.... Full Post >

Flower Girl Fun

Here’s another twist on past brides bringing their children to see where they were married. Such fun! Elizabeth married Ethan here on June 17, 2006. It was a lovely day. Camille married Ryan on August 17, 2013. On this particular August 17th, 5-year-old Hannah, daughter of Elizabeth and Ethan, served as flower girl for Camille. Hannah was not alone! Her mom Elizabeth served as bridesmaid, too.  This was a true family affair as Hannah’s wonderful grandmother was also in attendance... Full Post >
