Sara & Scott

Sara and Scott tied the knot on April 25, 2015. These newlyweds said their "I dos" at the Garden Terrace, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. Tell us about the engagement? Our engagement took us on a journey in logistics, which in turn required two attempts for Scott to get to “pop the question.” On the first attempt, Scott had the plan and pieces all in place. However, the universe had its own agenda in mind that evening. Essentially, all Scott needed was for their... Full Post >

Proud Grandmother’s Reading

With their two brothers standing as Best Men, Xan and Amanda listened as their Grandmother read: "In light of recent events the girls decided to include a passage from Justice Kennedy, 'No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than they once were...Marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death...Their hope is not to be condemned to live... Divine Intervention or Maker’s Mark?

We've had bridal couples consider it before, and I remember thinking it was a cute idea, but now I am a believer! I’m talking about Burying the Bourbon -- really. In our planning meeting, I realized that Libby was serious about burying a bottle of Bourbon at her wedding site 30 days before her and Will's big day. So, our gardener Donna cheerfully obliged. A month later, Will did the honors of digging up the buried treasure just before the ceremony, in the midst of a heatwave with... Full Post >
