Join one of America’s top fine dining restaurants, The Fearrington House Restaurant located near Chapel Hill, NC, and work under the direction of Executive Chef Colin Bedford and chocolatiere and cake designer Emma Isakoff. Chef Bedford was recently awarded the international culinary world’s top accolade, Grand Chef.

A pastry cook is responsible for the daily preparation of food items and will report to the Chef, Sous Chef or Executive Chef. Responsibilities include:

  1. Prepares all pastry and bakery items
  2. Works dessert buffet stations and banquet plate ups
  3. Follows recipes, assists in the development of new recipes
  4. Follows prep list. •Ensures all products are fresh before serving
  5. Ensures that all coolers and storage areas are maintained neat, organized, and items rotated
  6. Maintains highest sanitary conditions
  7. Ensures that all work areas are safe and secure; reports any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
  8. Your supervisor may assign other duties and activities from time to time

Qualifications include:

  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Previous experience in a high volume quality kitchen
  • Team player, self motivator
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
