Join one of America’s top fine dining restaurants, The Fearrington House Restaurant, and our casual dining restaurant, The Fearrington Granary, located near Chapel Hill, NC. Work under the direction of Executive Chef Colin Bedford, who was recently awarded the international culinary world’s top accolade, Grand Chef. A food runner is responsible for the presentation and delivery of food items and will report to the head maître d’. Responsibilities include:

  1. Greet guests as they enter into premise
  2. Provide preliminary information regarding menu
  3. Describe dishes to customers
  4. Deliver food to tables
  5. Check food for accuracy
  6. Prepare soups and salads when required
  7. Replenish food and beverages
  8. Take additional orders when required
  9. Bus and clear tables
  10. Clean tables and work areas
  11. Wash dishes and assist in food preparation
  12. Transport trays of soiled dishes

Qualifications include:

  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and team members in the English language
  • Tolerance of all cultures
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
