Join one of America’s top dining destinations, The Fearrington House, located near Chapel Hill, NC.

A catering bartender is expected to provide prompt and professional service to all customers and to follow all established control systems required in the dispensing of all alcoholic beverages. This is a seasonal position with needed availability on weekends. Responsibilities include:

  1. Exercise good public and customer relations skills at all times. Take initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  2. Dispense alcoholic beverages and controls service while ensuring customers do not become intoxicated.
  3. Prepare all drink orders as required and charge for such orders.
  4. Comply with all liquor laws, health regulations, and company policies.
  5. Perform all side duties such as cleaning, garnish preparation, miscellaneous preparation, stocking, etc.
  6. Wash and sanitize all glasses and utensils.
  7. Ensure all alcohol is removed from counters and tables prior to required closing time.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

At the Garden Terrace

Qualifications Include:

  • Previous bartending experience
  • Basic arithmetic skills necessary to total costs and make change
  • Communicating successfully with guests
  • Standing or walking for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods
  • Move quickly all dishes, money, merchandise, etc. Lift and carry heavy items, such as trays
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must meet state law age requirements for tending bar
