The Ultimate in Relaxation

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of a hot stone massage knows the intense feeling of relaxation it provides the recipient.  But do you know that there are lasting long term benefits of hot stone massage? A hot stone massage combines thermotherapy with massage techniques to provide an effective healing therapy. This results in a full body relaxation of the mind, body and spirit.

For those who haven’t had the pleasure of having a hot stone massage; it consists of both warm and hot stones placed in a formation directly on the body as well as being used as a massage tool.  The localized placement of heat on a particular area increases circulation of fluids and helps to relax the deeper muscles in your body. Some of benefits include relaxation of the muscles, reduced stress, releasing of toxins and also reduction of pain. By improving circulation throughout the body it promotes improvement to your overall health.

Considering the above benefits, it is no surprise that hot stone massages are used as therapy to relieve certain health problems such as arthritis, anxiety, stress, back pain, depression, insomnia and problems related to blood circulation.

Our dedicated massage therapy team at The Fearrington Spa have recently completed an advanced course on hot stone therapy.
