New Wines at The Goat

Our wine team loves bringing in small production, quality driven wines at affordable prices. Here are a few of the exciting new wines offered at The Goat:

Evodia, Garnacha, Calatyud, Spain ($15)

A wine made with Eric Solomon, one of the greatest importers of Spanish wine, this Old Vine Grenache – some at 100 years old! – is mixed with a touch of Syrah, and is a stunner for the price. Warm, ripe red and blue fruit is accompanied with light spice notes of black pepper and clove. Perfect for roast poultry or light braises.

Franciscan, Cuvee Sauvage Chardonnay, Carneros, California ($30)

For those who love oaky, buttery Chardonnays, look no further! This wine from Franciscan is fermented with indigenous yeasts present in the vineyards, giving this white some complexity. This wine tastes like ripe apples and pears lounging in crème brûlée with a touch of lemon curd.

Katie was near the end of her rotations for her Physician Assistant program at a hospital where I worked with my father. Throughout fall of 2012, Katie spent several weeks working alongside my father. When he learned that Katie was on her last week of rotations he asked her to stick around after her shift... Q&A with Ann Lightfoot

We sat down with Ann Lightfoot before her trunk show at Dovecote on Saturday, November 12th and Sunday, November 13th. Here is what she shared with us about her collection! What was your inspiration this season? This season, like every season, my inspiration always comes from seeing and finding new materials in their rawest form. Seeing these stones, brought straight from the earth, is always a magical time for me in the creative process. I always start with the stones themselves... Full Post >
