The Harper Plan – A Winning Design!

Since 1974, Fearrington has been helping families create their dream homes. Our own custom home construction team has decades of experience in providing advice and top-quality features specific to each homebuyer.  Residents choose The Harper plan for a multitude of reasons, from its spacious design to copious entertaining space.

Here are a few reasons why The Harper plan is a homebuyer favorite:

  • It has a very open entertaining area, where the kitchen, dining, and living rooms are all in close proximity to each other. This is highlighted by the large kitchen with a bar-top to eat, drink, and congregate around.
  • The master bedroom suite is tucked away at the end of the house which creates a quiet retreat with views to the rear of the lot. In most cases these views are of beautiful woods. The master bathroom features a large, walk-in shower and double-sink vanity. The master suite is complete with a spacious walk-in closet.
  • The Harper plan has two secondary bedrooms. Many choose to use one bedroom as a guest suite for visiting family and friends, and the second bedroom can function as an office or study. Each bedroom has two closets and a great location in the front of the house.
  • The Harper plan is economically designed, which means there is very little wasted space.
  • There is a lot of storage space throughout the house which gives residents greater flexibility.
  • This plan, as are most of our plans, has been designed with large, 3’-0” wide doorways in most areas. This not only gives the house a more open and spacious feel, but it also helps with moving furniture around – and if the need arises, provides convenient handicap accessibility.

These are just a few of the reasons why I think the Harper is a “winning!” design.

Justine & Rob

Justine and Rob tied the knot on June 28, 2015. These newlyweds said their 'I dos' in under the Crab Apples and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. How did you and your partner meet? Rob and I met nine years ago in 2006. We were seventeen and eighteen years old working as counselors at a day camp. We did not have the same friends and did not speak to each other much until the last week of the summer. The day before the last day of camp, one of my campers went up to Rob and... Full Post >

A training schedule is only half of what Chef Colin Bedford is doing to prepare for his Chefs Cycle No Kid Hungry bike ride coming up in June. So what does breakfast, lunch and dinner look like for training chef? For breakfast a stack of flax seed, quinoa and whole wheat pancakes or loaded frittatas and... Full Post >

A Little Hideaway

Some guests are unaware that half of The Fearrington House Inn’s rooms are located in The Park building, just around the corner from The Spa and Wedding Planning offices. My favorite Standard Room in the cluster of rooms is tucked away around the corner in the upstairs hallway, and that is Room 24. Upon walking into the foyer, the window directly on your left peers over the cutting garden used by Fearrington’s Floral Team. You may even spot some local wildlife foraging around the... Full Post >
