Q&A with Blair Stanley

We were excited to catch up with designer Blair Stanley before this weekend’s trunk show at Dovecote on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th. Check out the great thoughts he shared with us about this season’s collection!

What three words best describe your line?
Classic with a twist, sophisticated and distinctive.

What has been your inspiration this season?
My inspiration is always textile driven. I believe the most beautiful styles derive from timeless fabrics with an occasional hint of edge.

What is your favorite piece from your collection and why?
I am particularly fond of the white pique with re-embroidered jacquard. It reminds me of my southern roots. (Pictured right)

How do you view your personal style?
Classic and eclectic.

Do you have recommendations on styling items from your collection?
Wear every piece the way you feel comfortable. We all see things differently, style is unique. Be an individual!

If you could provide one piece of fashion advice, what would it be?
Look at yourself in the most positive way! Be yourself, it will always suit you well!

We can’t wait to share this fabulous collection with you this weekend. See you there!

Maria & Dave

Maria and Dave tied the knot on November 15, 2014. These newlyweds said their "I dos" at the Garden Terrace, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. How did you and your partner meet? Dave and I met in 2011, when we were both working for the same big law firm in New York City. Dave shared an office with a dear friend of mine. I would visit her periodically, and for the first 3 months of those visits, I completely ignored Dave. With time, though started to realize how charming... Full Post >

John Westmoreland is the talented Chatham County artist who is playing jazz and classical music at The Granary on Monday & Tuesday evenings. We are excited to share a little more about Westmoreland and his love of music! What prompted your love of music? Honestly, I would say my love of music feels innate to my soul, but I was also lucky to grow up in a very musical environment. My father comes from a family... Full Post >
