Gift Guide – The Jet Setter

Travel is an essential part of the holidays. Whether by car, plane, train or boat, everyone travels, even if it’s just down the road, to spend time with their loved ones. The long lines, packing and stress are not everyone’s cup of tea, but we all know those who love the thrill of new places and travel often-the jet setter! Here are a few pieces special for the frequent-fliers on your list.

We adore just about anything from Alicia Adams Alpaca, especially their travel throws. Although they look like a simple blanket, they can be worn as scarves, wraps and capes, as well as both over and under coats. They come in the most gorgeous colors and provide warm, durable, and stylish comfort.

Additionally, we have a new line of tops and pants from Porto. Italian microfiber fabric made in San Francisco, Porto is chic, breathable and portable. This fabric travels well and can go from day-to-night in a snap. Jet setters will love this easy piece!

For the stylish globe trotter, there’s simply nothing better than a Magaschoni cashmere ruffle wrap. Dovecote carries this fabulous (and sensible) accessory in an array of colors. The wrap is easy, warm and comforting while still retaining utter elegance. It packs easily for holiday travel (see more packing tips here) and the classic style will last forever.

Stop by Dovecote’s encore trunk show with Magaschoni on Saturday, December 6th or Sunday, December 7th to pick up a ruffle wrap for the traveler in your life and have it gift wrapped! Check the blog often this holiday season for other gift suggestions from Dovecote Style at Fearrington Village!

Transformation Tuesday

Today we've fully embraced the season. Though most of the leaves have come and gone, we are still so very fond of orange. We've taken a plain tee shirt and jeans and spiced it up with a chocolate and orange color palette. We've kept the clean straight leg with our pant, shown here in the Keesha style from Equestrian Designs and replaced the tee with a luxurious silk and cashmere blend v-neck sweater from Magaschoni. We just adore this lively orange; it brightens up the whole face in such a... Full Post >

One of the first (and largest!) to go up is the Center Island tree, which will be covered with our handmade decorations to feed the birds. Specially decorated trees will be placed throughout the Village shops and restaurants, along... Full Post >

Wine for the Holiday Hostess

The Setup You got invited to a get together, you want to bring wine, but you have no clue what anybody's preferences are. The Solution Think blends. Wines made from a blend of varieties will inherently tempt a wider spectrum of tastes and offer what will typically be a more complex, balanced wine. For white wine, we have this unthinkably delicious blend from the Napa Valley in ODISEA's Veritable Quandary that returns a glass full of tropical citrus, star fruit, kiwi, a river... Full Post >

Megan & Michael

Megan and Michael tied the knot on June 21, 2014. These newlyweds said their "I dos" at the Garden Terrace, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn. How did you and your partner meet? We grew up together. His mom has worked for my dad for almost 20 years, and one summer Michael and I were both working for him as well. He was in the IT department, so when my phone broke one afternoon, he was the one who came to fix it. We started talking a lot more and I would purposely break... Full Post >
