Meredith and Ben tied the knot on May 23, 2015. These newlyweds said their “I dos” under the Pecan Trees, and danced the night away in the Fearrington Barn.
How did you and your partner meet?
Ben and I were friends from high school, but were two years apart in age. We reconnected over Christmas break during my sophomore year at East Carolina University and Ben’s senior year at Auburn. As Ben was getting ready to leave to finish his final semester of college, he told me after our very first lunch date at Panera, “we would stay in touch!” I have talked to Ben every single day since and we have always and will forever be connected with each other.
Tell us about the engagement/proposal?
The majority of our relationship was long distance. Ben and I would travel to one another whenever we could. Seeing each other at most once a month. After finishing my junior year at ECU, Ben came home for Memorial Day weekend. I was very excited because it had been a little over a month since we had seen each other. Little did I know, it was about to be the best date night of my life! We went and tried a new restaurant in downtown Raleigh and then went for a walk around town afterward. We made it to the capitol building where we stopped. Ben asked me to marry him right there in the very place where our love began. His sister Anna was standing nearby and captured the moment on camera. We went back to his house and then mine to celebrate with our families. It was by far the most special date night we have ever had!
What made Fearrington the place for you to say “I do?”
Fearrington Village had everything we could ever imagine. We wanted an outside ceremony and I wanted a barn setting for the reception. We also wanted it to be close to Raleigh, North Carolina nearby most of our family and friends. The welcoming environment and friendly staff just added to the charm that Fearrington brought us. I have slowly fallen in love with the little village in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
Describe the highlight moment of your wedding day?
The moment Ben and I walked down the aisle as husband and wife. It was the perfect feeling for a perfect day. Laughing, dancing, and enjoying the time with our family and friends made the day unforgettable.

Fearrington has many sweet secrets we love to share only with our Inn guests, and my personal favorites are the beach bikes! Offered on a first come, first serve basis for Inn guests only, our red and blue bikes are perfect for the easy trails and gradual hills of Fearrington Village. The parks found throughout our residential areas make for a nice area to explore, too. We also offer helmets for guests to feel extra safe.
